History of Tie Luo Han

Tie Luo Han has a history of more than 200 years.

In 1782, a tea merchant set up a tea shop to sell Wuyi rock tea. One day, he found a tall tea tree growing on the cliff of Wuyi Mountain. The tea tree looks like an Iron Arhat in the mist.

Then he picked the tender leaves of the tea tree and processed them carefully. The finished tea was very fragrant and mellow, so he named it “Tie Luo Han”. Tie means “Iron” and Luo Han means “Arhat”.

Since the 1990s, the trees of Tie Luo Han have been expanded cultivation in Wuyi Mountain.

Characteristics of Tie Luo Han
